SHELTON, Conn., USA – (April 13, 2018) – In less than nine months, the return of the Tiger-Sul Atmore,
Alabama, plant is now complete with full resumption of sulphur bentonite production. Tiger-Sul lost
production capabilities at Atmore when a lightning strike caused a fire at the plant in July 2017.

This marks the final milestone in a methodical, staged approach that Tiger-Sul management and
operation teams implemented to return Atmore to full production:

  • August, 2017 – warehousing operations resumed.
  • September, 2017 – rail-unloading, storage and truck shipments of molten sulphur resumed.
  • November, 2017 – partial sulphur bentonite production operations began.

Throughout the process, Tiger-Sul continued to service its customers and fulfill their orders through the
company’s plants in Stockton, California, and Irricana, Alberta, as well as from inventory that existed at
Atmore prior to the fire. The newly constructed, state-of-the-art production plant in Atmore can
produce both sulphur bentonite and micronutrients, and features four new high-capacity belts that can
increase production by nearly 150 percent compared to pre-fire capacity.

“Looking at pictures of the damage caused by the fire, and realizing this occurred less than nine months
ago, reinforces what an extraordinary undertaking this has been to return the plant to full – and even
expanded – production capabilities” says Don Cherry, Tiger-Sul President and CEO. “I can’t say enough
about the amazing Tiger-Sul team that made this happen. They overcame any and all obstacles to bring
Atmore back, and make it even better. This facility will continue to be critical in helping us meet the
increasing demand among both local and global customers. And as a company, Tiger-Sul continues to be
committed to adhering to strong health and safety programs and protocols for the benefit of our
employees, our customers and the communities in which we do business.”

Tiger-Sul will celebrate the hard work of all those involved with a grand re-opening event that will take
place at the Atmore facility in mid-May, when the spring season tapers off.
