Boost Potato Yields: Sulphur Fertilizer Trials Show Up to 3 Tons More Per Acre

When it comes to potato yield, every hundredweight counts. Our four-year potato fertilizer trial data shows a clear trend: adding sulphur fertilizer to the grower standard program delivers measurable yield gains.

Potato Yield Response to Tiger Sulphur Chart

Potato Yield Data

Compared to the grower standard, both Tiger 90CR® and Tiger XP® outperformed, with Tiger XP delivering the largest average gain:

  • Tiger XP: +61 cwt/A ≈ 3 tons more potatoes per acre

  • Tiger 90CR: +36 cwt/A ≈ 1.8 tons more potatoes per acre

Why Sulphur Matters for Potato Production

Sulphur is a critical nutrient for potato crop nutrition. It improves nitrogen efficiency, supports protein formation, and keeps photosynthesis strong during the bulking stage. Without enough sulphur, potatoes can’t reach their full yield potential.

Sulphur isn’t optional, it’s a proven yield driver. If your potato fertilizer program doesn’t include sulphur, you could be leaving up to 12% yield on the table.
