WESTPORT, Conn., USA – (Sept. 4, 2008) – H.J. Baker & Bro., Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tiger-Sul Products today announced the grand opening of its state-ofthe-art Stockton, California facility.
Celebrating the opening of this new facility with an official ribbon cutting, Christopher Smith, President & CEO of H.J. Baker & Bro., Inc., stated: “We are very pleased to announce the opening of our 3rd production facility in North America. This will allow us to continue to produce top quality sulphur-based fertilizers to customers in the region and will also allow us to reach our international customers efficiently, while continuing to provide the exceptional service and products our customers depend on”.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted by Christopher Smith, President & CEO; Matthew Smith, Chairman of the Board and David M. Smith, President-New Business Development. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, a tour of the new facility showcased some of the latest technology available in the Tiger-Sul pastillation process. Smith continues: “As the industry leader we would like to show our customers what it takes to continually create and maintain top quality products.” The Tiger-Sul pastillation process produces an especially uniform product that is an excellent fit for the California soils. All our products feature environment-friendly benefits such as season-long release of nutrients that maximizes nutrient efficiency, improving plant availability. The Tiger-Sul line of products is also well suited for the California soils as the sulphur assists in phosphate and micronutrient efficiency.”
A luncheon and reception followed the ribbon cutting ceremony. Here the group was joined by guest speaker Mr. Don Messick, Director of Agricultural Market Studies Programs with The Sulphur Institute, Washington, DC, who gave a brief overview of the world sulphur markets. Jeff Ivan, Manager of Marketing & Business Development with Tiger-Sul Products followed Mr. Messick with an overview of the Tiger-Sul product line and a few words on the commitment of Tiger-Sul Products to the California, the Pacific North West Region and the Global markets that the Stockton facility will service.
